Earth Day

Wednesday 22, 2009 is Earth day. We need to do what ever we can to keep our Earth healthy. Like... Use a reusable lunch box instead of a paper bag and use containers rather than plastic Ziplocs. Recycle as much plastic and paper as you can. You can turn the lights off when your not in the room or home. Plant trees to help us breath clean air. Keep the land clean from garbage and if you see lots go and pick it up. Use metal water bottles in stead of juice boxes if you can. Use both sides of paper to save our trees. Don't thow toys away when you can give them to the Salvation Amy. We need our Earth so lets try to keep it healthy.

Fun Ride!

On Monday, Lacey came over and we rode. I rode a grey horse called Buddy, and she rode a paint called Ben. They needed some exersice so we decided to ride out in the field. Lacey and I galloped most of the way. My horse was way faster than hers. On the way back we were going wide open (as fast as the horses would go) and Ben still couldn't catch up to Buddy. We went through a a little water run, it was up to Buddy's knees, and almost to Ben's stomach. We had so much fun riding...

P.S. When we were done there was sweat that looked like foam on his breat collar.

Mud Bog

On the weekend my sister, dad, and I went out to see if the dugout had water in it on our two quads. After my dad decided to go to the other side of the dugout driving in the field. Of course his two-wheel drive quad didn't make it... He got stuck in the mud... I came on my yellow four-wheel drive quad to help him. Slowly my quad crawled up to his green quad and then I bumped into him, on purpose. He pressed on the gas and then the mud started flinging. I got mud all over me and even in my eye... He finally got out and we went home...

P.S. I had to change that is how muddy I was!!!

Dancing!

Results!!! We were so nervous before we walked on the brightly light stage... The judges were always looking at you... There were five of us feeling the same way, very, very nervous. When you pose and bow, then you feel the relief that you are done... Once you were back in the room then the impatience comes back... What is our score going to be???
That is what it felt like when I went to competition in Avonlea... In the end in Hip Hop we got third and in Tap we got forth!
P.S. It was fun though!!!

Calving!!!

On Sunday my mom called me at roping and said that we better hurry home because my heifer was calving! I had my Patches because she was my 4-H animal that I showed in 2008. I just made it home in time to see the baby being born!! They had to pull the calf because it was backwards. After the calf was born my dad told me that most calfs that are backwards don't live, but it lived. It was a little girl, she was black and white brocle face. My dad drug the calf into a pen in the barn. When the calf and Patches were in the barn we left them alone for a while. In about an hour we went to check up on little Maggie and Patches, Maggie was trying to get up but she couldn't so my dad picked up her back end. She wobbled for a while and then fell over. In a minute she tryed to get up again, so dad went over and gave Maggie a boost. This time she stood and then Patches started licking her. Little Maggie started looking for her mother, finally she started sucking! My dad waas happy that Patches accepted her!!! This morning when I went down to check on her Patches came to the fence and I scratched her on the nose, then baby Maggie came to the fence she was so cute and dry. I am so glad that she lived!!!

Dancing

On Sunday I had to skip roping for dancing! We have to finish our dances for Saturday, it is our competition in Avonlea. In tap we are dancing to Let' s Twist Again. We finished it on Sunday, for once we finished a full song. The song we are doing for hip hop is called Hasta La Vista. For our hip hop, that is a different story. We still have a lot to do, but tonight we are supposed to finish it. I'm excited about the competition. Next week I'll fill you in on how we do!!!!

Skyping

Yesterday my class skyped Alex!!! It was so cool. She was in Regina and we are in Moose Jaw. We had her on a video. She told us how to add a video to our blog. We asked her a bunch of questions. In the end some of us had to get a YouTube Account. We all had a good time and learned a lot too... I can't wait to Skype again!!!

Karaoke

Caisia and I have been waiting for this day for a long time... It finally was the Karaoke Contest. Caisia and I had been practicing 'Our Song' by Taylor Swift. We were the last people to go and it was very scary. When we got up there the song started playing, everybody started singing along. We ended up being 15 minutes late for gym. It was worth it though....

P.S. We Won 1st place.

Roping at Cornach

On Friday I was so exited to go down to Cornach... Until I heard the news... My roping horse went laim. That means he cut his leg and the cut got infection... When the slow night turned to light I worried about what horse I was going to ride?? When I was ready to go I made sure I had all of my roping supplies... When my dad and I got to McNutt's, they said that I was going to ride and eight year old gelding named Buddy... We saddled him up, then put him in the trailer... In no time we were on our way to Cornach. In the end I did pretty good, I placed 1st and 2nd in the kids roping and 1st in the novice barrels!!!!!
P.S. When Lacey was roping off of him he decided to bolt when she was not holding on or even paying any attention. She flipped off the back of the saddle and landed on her neck... Good thing she was okay!!!

Valentines Dance

On Thursday Feb. 12 we had our Valentines Dance. It was our first and only after school dance. Before the dance I went over to Caisia's house and picked her up. My mom dropped us off at Lauran's house. We walked to the dance from her house. At the dance if there was a good song on we would jump up and down and yell our lungs out!! It was a lot of fun!!

Recognition Lunch

On Thursday Feb. 12 there was a luncheon for the kids who helped out with the SLC. There was pizza , lots of it and it was very filling... Mrs. Rodgers thanked us for all the hard work that we did and then we ate. After we were done eating she handed out Ice Cream Sandwiches. Why I was invited was because I was in the Spirit and Year Book Committees. What you do for the spirit committee is you organize events. In year book you make the schools year book. That's why I was invited...

Willy Wonka!!

On Friday February 4th our class went to Regina. We were heading toward the Conexus Arts Centre to see the Do It With Class Theatre, Willy Wonka. When we all got in the centre, we sat on the back of the stage. The play was around an hour. It was preformed by kids from the ages eight to twelve. It was very good and funny, I liked it! After the play was finished we jumped out of our seats and scrambled into the bus. In ten minutes we were heading towards Moose Jaw.

Sledding

On the last Friday in January we went sledding. Our whole class walked over to Spring Creek Park. The hill there was a perfect size. The temperature was above average and beautiful. We went down the hill on crazy carpets, we flipped and went down backwards. Some kids went so fast down the middle of the hill and jumped a snow pile at the bottom. Once there was a piggy pile! Everyone got a good laugh. When we came back to school we were pretty much dripping with water. At school Miss Olson made us Hot Chocolate and Popcorn. It was a really fun Friday.

5:00

On Friday I went to Caisia's house for her birthday party. We went to her house on the bus, it wasn't a very long trip though. Her house was the first in the route. When we got to her house we rushed to her room and straightened our hair. We styled our hair all the same so that we looked like quadruplets. We played on the Wii for just about four hours. We played Guitar Hero, Super Star, and Mario Carts the next morning. We opened the presents at 9:00pm. At 11:00 we decided to go and watch movies. We watched two movies: The Titanic and Moma Mia. After that Caisia fell asleep, and Lexi, Lauran and I played "Would You Rather" untill 5:00am.

Ski-Doo 'ing'

On Saturday my dad got the old Ski-Doo running. We got the Ski-Doo from my grandpa two years ago. It dosn't really look like this though. Of course my dad had to tear around on it once he got it running. HE made us come out. First of all we just went for the ride, and then my dad pumped up a old tractor tire tube. That was our tube. We had no handles so we laid down and hung on. If you fell off, the tube would run over you and it would hurt. It was so much fun when dad did donuts in the field.

Ivemecing Cows

On Saturday Jan. 16th I went to our neighbors and Ivemect cows. If you are wondering what Ivemec means, it is a blue liquid that you pour on the cows. It makes them stay healthy and not get parasites. On with the story! I was riding a mare named Chevy and she is four years old. She didn't listen perfectly but she did pretty good for a four year old. I had to chase cows up the alley to put them into the chute. One time there was a crazy cow that decided to ram my horse into the fence. I hit my knee on the fence and it really hurt. That was my Saturday.

Big Muddy

On Sunday, I went down to the regular place I rope at, but it was a little different. It was a Big Muddy, Big Muddy is an association where you rope and barrel race. When it first started I was in the barrel racing and I got third. I only rope in the kids so all afternoon I spoke into the microphone saying who's next... Finally it was time for the kids roping! I got on Bailley and warmed him up. I was the first one up. I ended up in third place for barrels and roping. I think I did very good.

Christmas Break

My alarm clock said 5:00am, I ran into my sisters room and woke her up. We bolted down the stairs and we exclaimed "Can we go in yet!" Finally my parents answered. We had to wait at the living room door...
It was Christmas morning and I was wondering what I would get. Put Put Put! We heard my grandparents drive in. Yes we can Finally go in...
The Christmas Tree was sparkling the presents underneath it were shining and it was a beautiful day outside(-35). I got so much stuff for roping and my horse.
On the Sunday after Christmas I tried out my new halter, roping bag, roping gloves, hoof pick, and bell boots. Everything worked great!!
